Hey is there some kind of way to find out which stores carry the particular shoes you're looking for?

For example, if you see some new shoes that are about to be released and you want to get them on the first day do you just call around until you find a shop that's getting them in or is there a site you go to that has info on which shoe accounts different stores have?

Or do you just wait until they come out and ask around the forum?  Newb

the best way is to run into someone w/ some heat on their feet and just ask em' if they got em' in the local area. Also you can check out various websites that have lists of legit shoe sites...

not only that but do ya homework on the websites because most prices vary; save some $ if you can...yea I mean just ask around in near by sneaker spots...depending on ya area mom and pop shops are best, footlocker and stuff have limited info, and of course SF comes handy Thumbs Up

Haha, yeah that would be kind of f'd up if i heard FootLocker ... but yeah, the reason why I ask is because it sounds like people have to either ask around (talkin to people) or actually calling stores to check up on it ... this isn't a problem?

I was thinking about setting up some kind of website that just holds the info on all sneakers: stuff like release date, shops that should be getting them in (based on which accounts they have), sizes they're getting in, etc.

Would anyone want to use something like that? I know it might sound ambitious but I really think this problem needs to be fixed ... i'm fine finding stuff when I'm at home but when i visit a new city i don't want to have to ask everybody or call to every store ... but that might just be me

Its a good idea but keeping track of EVERY store and each size they recieve might be a lil difficult.

oh yeah, i'm sure it would definitely be a pain to begin with ... but i think i've figured out a way to make it easy once it's up and running ...

the problem i'm dealing with is would people use it? is there a NEED for something like this? cause if people are fine doing it the way it's being done now and won't use the site then there's really no point in making something that organizes all this info

^^^to be honest i really dont think theres in point of doing that....u'd have to advertise....get the word out bout the website....b callin spots to see wat shoes r there n wat sizes r left....u'll have to update constantly.....like daily if u want ppl up to date with the inventory....etc..etc. etc.....list goes on...

yeah well it definitely wouldn't have real time inventory because of the reasons you listed; however, it would be more geared towards the release date and when stores are getting their first shipment in and the sizes (and number of each size) ... i think this would be a lot more realistic in terms of implementation and also it would be helpful for the people that want to get the shoes when they are first released

meanwhile, it would eliminate the need to call certain stores to see if they have them in stock if they never got them in stock in the first place ... but you're completely right about it being hard to update constantly if i were to try and keep the inventory up to date ... and in terms of advertising, I know a few people with connections in that area and hopefully word-of-mouth would work well too
