When you are winning in the sneaker world like Nike, you make your headquarters bigger. Well that’s one of the things you can do. The brand is adding 3.2 million square feet to its Beaverton, Oregon headquarters which is expected to be done by 2018.
At Nike World Headquarters, near Beaverton, Oregon, breakthrough product is designed and developed for the world’s best athletes. This stems from a constant drive to imagine, invent and deliver the future of sport — a mission facilitated by workspaces that support rapid iteration and creation through collaboration. This allows Nike to scale its innovation to all athletes. In the spirit of accelerating this process, Nike unveils the design for expansion of its World Headquarters.
“Every day at Nike we dream up new ways to inspire athletes to expand their potential,” says Mark Parker, President and CEO, NIKE, Inc. “To do that, we relentlessly evolve how we inspire our own teams and design environments that foster chemistry and collaboration. Our expanding World Headquarters reflects the best of Nike’s culture — a place where we obsess the athlete and invent future products and experiences for consumers everywhere.”
The expansion — with a targeted 2018 completion date — adds approximately 3.2 million square feet of office, mixed-use and parking facilities to campus. A trio of Northwest-based firms: ZGF Architects, SRG Partnership and Skylab Architecture will guide design, while Place Studio, of Portland, will provide landscape architecture services.
