Whenever something happens in New York, it’s more likely to garner more attention than if it had gone down elsewhere. That said, the city witnessed the opening of a Bape pirate store last month- and, needless to say, it drew a crowd. With the direction of the brand still somewhat uncertain- or at least perceived as such by several sneaker enthusiasts- A Bathing Ape continues to drop innovative ideas as well as classics. One such example is the Brick Sole collection of the Bape Sta, which takes the classic A Bathing Ape silhouette, drapes it in a monotone suede upper and places a red gum sole under it all.
