The Legendary rap group A Tribe Called Quest is teaming up with iconic skateboard shoe wear brand Vans to design a collaboration that will please music lovers and sneaker heads alike. The collaboration consists of designs that pay tribute to the influential rap group and all their milestones.
The A Tribe Called Quest x Vans Collection consists of 6 vans models. The pack will include the Vans Old Skool, Slip On, Authentic, Era, Sk8-Hi, and Ultra Range models and will dress them in bold colors and bright patterns that are inspired by the groups music. The Vans Slip-On will have cover art from the 2016 “We got it from here…thank you 4 your service” album. The Era is dressed up in an all over graphic print that is inspired by album art from 1999-2016. The Groups interpretation of the Old Skool Model will get the iconic Black on Black treatment. The Sk8-Hi design will be inspired by the groups popular “Bonita Applebaum” track with references to artwork all around the shoe and lyrics printed on the laces. The most special shoe in the pack is the Authentic, which celebrates the life of the late Phife Dawg. The group also had the opportunity to design their own version of Vans newest model, the UltraRange. It will have Black uppers along with a Black bottom and a Red side stripe to contrast the rest of the sneaker.
