Kobe Bryant has had multiple memorable moments throughout the years, but one is during the 1997 Slam Dunk Contest. Kobe was the youngest winner, and taking home the title, he wore the adidas Crazy 97 EQT Elevation ‘Dunk Contest’. To celebrate the 25th Anniversary, the Three Stripes Brand will retro the shoes in 2022.
adidas signed a young Kobe Bryant in 1996, making the Three Stripes Brand his first official shoe deal. One of the first models he wore in his NBA rookie season was the EQT Elevation, now known as the Crazy 97 EQT.
This adidas Crazy 97 EQT will resemble Kobe’s pair that he wore during the 1997 Slam Dunk Contest. Utilizing Purple throughout the soft leather upper and Black on the mesh panels. Next, we have White on the Three Stripes branding located on the lateral side and Gold branding by the ankle. Other details include dual elastic straps on the heel and a mostly Black rubber outsole.
