Nike is not only giving their classics a makeover, but the three stripes is giving their adidas Superstar a makeover as well. A similar adidas Superstar surfaced a couple months ago with an all mesh upper, which OG design cues under the material to stay true to the OG. The concept was to shed some weight and modernize the retro sneaker, with comfort and style in mind. Today, however, we bring you the new adidas Superstar Lite with a revamped look and design concept to shed that same weight without compromising in classic styling.
Notice the difference? The Superstar Lite stays true with it’s upper with all leather construction and soft inner sock liner and classic shell-toe. What’s different here, however, is the EVA foam midsole in place of the original solid subber. The EVA foam is lighter and just as durable for regular wear and tear and hides the fact that it isn’t solid rubber as it appears.
