While Jordan Brand has been adding new sneakers with a luxury feel, the brand will take at least three pairs of the Air Jordan 1 and adding premium materials and is being called the Gold Plated collection.
In April Michael Jordan was seen court side wearing the black pair when his Charlotte Bobcats (now Hornets) were defeated in the playoffs against the Miami Heat. This new image shows two additional pairs in tan and a cream color which gives us hope they will release.
Although we can’t see the tongue clearly, it appears they will feature a gold plated logo which isn’t Nike Air. Rumor has it the tongue, Wings logo and eyelets will have 14k gold, a new offering from JB. Each will come with premium leather as well as a white midsole.
A release date has yet to be announced, but sources have said that the Air Jordan 1 Gold Plated collection will drop in 2015.
