Building upon the Reimagined series, Jordan Brand will have a new addition to the line in the Summer of 2024. This time, the brand will take the classic “UNC” Air Jordan 1 High OG, also called “Dark Powder Blue” by some, and give it the Reimagined treatment.
Air Jordan 1 UNC Through the Years
The “UNC” Air Jordan 1 is an original colorway first released in 1985. Since then, we have seen the pair return in different forms. The first time we saw a return was in 2003, but it wasn’t like the OG. This pair featured patent leather, a plastic Wings logo, and the Jumpman on the tongues and heels. In 2015, Jordan Brand launched the “UNC” Air Jordan 1 High OG, the closest to date compared to the original. The last time we saw a “UNC” iteration on the AJ 1 drop was in 2018, but this time around, it was a collaboration with Off-White.
History of the Reimagined Jordan 1
Jordan Brand has steadily built its “Reimagined” line, first introduced in 2021 with the “Bred Patent” release. Since then, various models have received the treatment, which can be anything from a material change to a vintage makeover. However, when it comes to the Air Jordan 1, we saw the “Lost and Found” debut in 2022, the “Royal Reimagined” launch in 2023, and the upcoming release of the “Black Toe Reimagined” in October 2023.
This Air Jordan 1 features a Dark Powder Blue and Sail color combination. We can confirm that the “Reimagined” theme will be aged, similar to what Jordan Brand did on the Lost and Found 1s. The shoes will feature cracked leather throughout, while the midsole will have an aged makeover. Nevertheless, we can expect the classic UNC color blocking with White on the base and Powder Blue on the overlays.
The packaging will resemble that released with the “Lost and Found” Jordan 1. However, it will be in reverse color blocking. The lid will be in Black and Red, while the box will have Orange and White details.
