The Air Jordan 1 Low SE ‘Tokyo Vintage’ pays tribute to Michael Jordan’s alma mater, the University of North Carolina, and the 1996 ‘Nike Hoop Heroes’ event when MJ first visited Japan.
During the event, a kid in MJ’s UNC uniform got the chance to play 1-one-1 against MJ, who was wearing the Air Jordan 12s. The Air Jordan 1 Low shown will feature lizard skin on the Swoosh, which was taken from the 12s. The kid, Keijuro Matsui, is now 37 years old and still plays professional basketball. Dressed in a Dutch Blue, Smoke Grey, and Sail color combination. Highlighted with Sail suede on the base, Grey adorns the Swoosh, part of the eyestays, and heel. Dutch Blue wraps the toe, forefoot overlay, and rubber outsole. Other details include an exposed foam tongue and an aged midsole.
