The Air Jordan 4 “Sand” 2006, aka “Linen,” was released on July 22, 2006, and retailed for $115. This was the first women’s exclusive Air Jordan 4 with several nicknames. Designed by Tinker Hatfield, the sneakers also feature Boarder Blue accents.
Air Jordan 4 Sand 2006 History
Leading up to and upon its debut, the “Sand” Air Jordan 4 didn’t have a following. Most thought the shoes were dull and were on the plain side. Although designed for women, when it was time for the launch, many men lined up to grab their size. It did take time, but eventually, they would sell out.
This Air Jordan 4 comes dressed in a White, Boarder Blue, and Light Sand color combination. Due to the shades used, this pair received the “Linen” nickname and resembled the AF1. It utilizes White leather across the base with the same shade on the mesh panels and tongues. Light Sand adorns the nubuck wings, heel tabs, translucent eyelets, upper portion of the midsole, and toe cap. Adding pop, Boarder Blue Jumpmans land on the tongues and heels. Other details include White and Sand on the rubber outsole.
If you plan on wearing the sneakers today, we have bad news. Due to the age, the midsole will no longer hold up and will crumble. As for the looks, the mesh and midsole have started to turn Yellow, and the Boarder Blue is faded.
