The Air Jordan 4 “Thunder” 2006 was released on August 23, 2006, and retailed for $500. The sneakers were limited and released via the Jumpman23 website and are part of the Lifestyle (LS) collection. Although the retail price was high, you weren’t just getting a fresh pair of kicks, but they came with a zip-up jacket.

In 2004, Michael Jordan entered into the motorcycle realm, and he would form Michael Jordan Motorsports. This has led to multiple shoes inspired by motorsports, including the “Thunder” Air Jordan 4. While most were excited about the launch, the downfall was that it was limited and exclusive to the Jumpman23 website. 

Dressed in a Black, Tour Yellow, and White color combination. Constructed with Black nubuck on the upper with the same shade across the mesh panels and tongues. Tour Yellow drapes the base, eyelets, inside of the tongue, and most of the midsole. Only a bit of White is used, which lands on the heel and outsole Jumpman. Other highlights include a visible Air unit in the heel, “Air Jordan” on the inside of the tongue, and mostly Black on the rubber sole.

The jacket that the “Thunder” Jordan 4 came with was unique. White covers most of it, opposite the sneakers, with silhouettes of different Air Jordans, similar to what Jordan Brand did with the Laser releases. Lastly, Yellow stripes wrap the cuffs, collar, and bottom.

While the “Thunder” 4s have been re-released several times, the 2006 pair is no longer wearable due to the midsole crumbling.
