When the Air Jordan V (5) “Laney” originally released back in 2000, it was well-received, but nothing earth-shattering. However, as often happens in the sneaker world, time has changed the perception of this non-OG colorway – based on Michael Jordan’s high school alma mater – making it one of the most beloved and sought-after sneakers in the Air Jordan catalog. Luckily for us, Jordan Brand has decided to bring back the Air Jordan V “Laney” this Fall, for the first time since its original release.
The 2013 version appears to be nearly identical to the 2000 pair, save for the blue Jumpman on the heel of the 2000 pair being replaced by a black Jumpman logo on the 2013 version. White tumbled leather composes the upper, with royal blue and maize accents throughout. A blue and maize midsole and black and translucent outsole hold things down, while fresh white laces wrap things up.
In anticipation of the November 2nd release, we’ve decided to bring you a detailed look at this fresh pair of kicks, whose colorway unexpectedly matches the Air Jordan V perfectly. Hit the jump for the pics, and let us know if you plan on picking up a pair come November (count me down for 3!) in the comments below.
