Nike brand president Trevor Edwards spoke about Jordan Brand during Nike, Inc.’s Fiscal 2018 Second Quarter reports. This is when he talked about what we can expect from Jordan Brand in 2018.
Months back we talked about Air Jordans being more limited in 2018 via our YouTube channel and Twitter, however Edwards had said the following: “we want to keep Jordan icons coveted and special, which is why we are proactively managing the exclusivity of specific iconic styles.”
Jordan Brand had produced more products leading to retros sitting and eventually going on sale, something that wouldn’t happen a few years back. The high numbers available allowed for the brand to meet their revenue goals.
Allowing for Air Jordans to be produced in less numbers will lead to overall sales going down, however this will also bring the hype back up for releases.
The Air Jordan 3 Black Cement will be one of the biggest releases in 2018, however we received confirmation months back that numbers will be cut on this pair.
Also the Air Jordan 1 will be like the Nike Air Force 1 as Jordan Brand’s main model. This will lead for more colorways releasing in 2018.
While we do see this as a good strategy going forward helping the brand stay alive for years to come, the resell market will once again thrive. Make sure to visit the comments section and let us know your thoughts.
