New York Knicks stars Amar’e Stoudemire, Jason Kidd and Tyson Chandler recently held a special event alongside Nike at the London School of Basketball.
During their latest trip to London, Amar’e Stoudemire, Jason Kidd and Tyson Chandler recently held an exclusive master class and open Q&A with members of the London School of Basketball (LSB).
The Nike Basketball athletes took part in a skills clinic with 30 local ballers on their first visit to The Regal Basketball Court in South London, a unique sport redevelopment project led by Nike and situated at the Black Prince Community Hub.
Following the skills sessions, the LSB audience then engaged in a courtside Q&A session where kids threw out questions about the athletes’ summer 2012 experience in London, advice for aspiring athletes, training tips and more.
Amar’e, Jason and Tyson are the latest basketball legends to visit the Black Prince Community Hub. The Regal is quickly becoming a go-to destination for British basketball as one of the most eye-catching showcase courts in the UK. The renovation was the first step to generate fresh excitement and enthusiasm for basketball in London. The second step was to appoint a lead basketball coach to develop a year-long program of free clinics and events for schools, clubs and the community.
The athlete visits have been pivotal, inspirational moments for London’s grassroots basketball community, who are dedicated followers of the game both at home and abroad.
