Last night was a wonderful season opener for the Miami Heat, and not only because they defeated the Chicago Bulls 107-95. It was also special because it was the night the returning Heat from the 2013 Championship team received their Championship rings. The Miami Heat’s own Lebron James and Ray Allen were both celebrating their second NBA Championship, Ray getting his first in 2008 with the Boston Celtics. In order of this celebration and the christening of a new season these two icons pulled out some of the dopest sneakers to set the bar. But which pair was better?
Lebron James wore a PE of his newest model, the Lebron 11. They featured a championship red base with flashy gold accents all over the shoe, including the swoosh. Icy soles also added to the very complete looking pair of kicks. “I promise” was inscribed on both heels as well. This sneaker is similar to championship model of the Lebron X’s, but also has its own flare on this new silhouette.
Ray Allen, without his own branch of the nike brand, seems to prefer a classic Jordan silhouette for his PE’s and last night’s ring ceremony and opening game was no different. The Jordan 11’s Ray sported last night were a fresh, futuristic, and sophisticated look. I know I speak for a lot of people when I say I would like to see a pair similar to these release, but I wouldn’t count on it. These magnificent kicks are done on a white base and feature gold patent leather around the entire sneaker and red soles. Red also is the accent color throughout the shoe on the Logos and details. 2008 is printed on the left inside tongue while 2013 is on the right; Ray Allen’s two Championship seasons. 34’s are also printed on the heels of these PEs.
All in all both of these PE’s were amazing to see on court but which one takes the cake? Let us know! This has been a SneakerFiles update; stay posted for more sneaker news!
