Just when you thought it couldn’t get any better with the work of sneaker mask-maker Freehand Profit, he hits us over the head with this madness: the Boba Fett SB Helmet. Created for his first solo art exhibition at sneaker shop/art gallery Rosewood San Diego, which opened last month, FHP has really outdone himself with this amazing creation.
Utilizing the unheralded classic Nike SB Dunk High “Boba Fett”, which itself was a tribute to the Star Wars bounty hunter, this piece of art takes that tribute one step further by using the tribute to create a tribute; using the parts from 3 pairs of “Boba Fett” SB Dunks, as well as a couple other materials, Profit has created a version of Fett’s infamous helmet that George Lucas would be proud of.
While some people have taken umbrage with his art, for the simple fact that he’s used some of the greatest sneakers of all-time as materials for his work (see: “South Beach 8 Mask”, “Bin23 Jordan V (5) Mask”), this is a piece of art that even the staunchest “#wearyourkicks” supporter could appreciate.
What do you think of this creation? Amazing, or a waste of some perfectly good pairs of kicks? Let us know in the comments below, and check out more pics after the jump!
