We recently learned that the Concepts x Nike Kyrie 6 would release this December but before that happens the Boston retailer will have another Nike Kyrie 5 collaboration.
In 2018 Concepts brought us the Kyrie 4 ‘Green Lobster’ and Kyrie 5 ‘Ikhet’ and for their next collaboration on the Kyrie 5, its inspired by Orion’s Belt which features three bright stars: Alnitak, Alnilam and Mintaka.
This Nike Kyrie 5 was actually leaked back in August but the official name has changed. Referenced in the “Orion’s Belt” design, is the theory that the constellation aligns perfectly with all three Pyramids of Giza, which along with The Great Sphinx, were believed to be submerged in water at one point. The pyramids on the sneaker’s shroud are in accordance to the actual size and order, while the constellation sits above, on the tongue. The shades along the swoosh and heel-counter represent where the water levels would have receded over time.
