For $300, Athletic Propulsion Labs is selling a cool looking shoe that “instantly” improves the wearer’s vertical leap. That is bold talk from a start-up company that is still relatively obscure in most shoe circles. (And if the MagicExtender pills that I purchased from an Interwebz start-up are any indication, things that boast “instant” improvement should be wholly and comprehensively scrutinized and never trusted.) Pair that with a technology called Load N’ Launch, which sounds more like a sexual foray than an energy return system, and APL’s intent here seems to be “instantly” dubious. What are your thoughts? 1. not a terrible looking bball shoe, but they are going to have to prove that claim before selling them in the US

  2. actual shoe doesnt look too bad…. but for 300 bucks it had better add like 20 inches to your vert! lol

  3. wow real talk that better make kids in gradeschool under 5 feet dunk for 300. looks like a jordan 23 ripoff.

  4. I just bought a pair. Until then I could barely touch the rim if I jumped. With these shoes on I can actually land on the rim with my feet and drop down to dunk. Believe everything you read.

  5. They may just work, like in the powerlifting competitions they have bench shirts that actually increase your bench over a hundred pounds or so, they also have deadlift and squat suits too, CHEATERS UNLESS EVERYONE IS WEARING THEM IN THE GAME

  6. Serious? The laws of motion are still in affect, even with these shoes. I am a vertical jumper on the court. Running and jumping actually hurts my vertical. But, from 1 step, at 6'2, I can dunk, or pin ya shot on the backboard. Motion is gererated by a tightening of muscles, then a release. So me planting my feet almost generates nothing. You dip, then explode. If you want to add 10 inches to ya vertical, search PLYOMETRICS training. Not jus jumping bt adds to speed and explosion..

  7. These shoes just got banned by the NBA due to their "unfair competitive advantage" Their own testing confirmed it. Consider that a "Myth confirmed!"
