Nike Sportswear has had an unexpected hit so far this Spring with the introduction of the Roshe Run.
A deconstructed silhouette and minimalism at its finest, the shoe couples a lightweight mesh upper with a full-length Phylon midsole for cushioning, a small amount of padding around the collar and ankle and an EVA foam outsole that is both lightweight and durable – all in a package priced at an affordable $70.
The guys over at How To Make It recently caught up with the shoe’s designer, Dylan Raasch, to discuss how the design came about and the hurdles that marked its road to final production. The interview can be read in its entirety here while you can view some images of the original sample below.
