Staying true to the Ox lineup, Converse releases the Jack Purcell Leather Ox. The release honors the Canadian World Champion Badminton player, John Edward “Jack” Purcell. Jack was the Canadian National Badminton Champion in 1929 and 1930 and was declared as world champion in 1933. Purcell designed a canvas and rubber badminton sneaker for the B.F. Goodrich Company of Canada in 1935. The reason Purcell designed the sneakers was to provide more protection and support for other players while on badminton courts.
The white and black color-ways of the Purcell Leather Ox features a very soft leather upper that portrays the shoes very stylishly. Both styles are equipped with the famous gum bottom sole that also molds onto the toe as well to provide double coverage over scarping up the upper leather. Both pairs are available for purchase at select Converse retailers such as size?. What else is in store for the Converse Ox line? Leave your though below after checking out the photos.
