UK Retailer, JD Sports, is creeping in on a deal to buy out Finish Line, which has been struggling to keep up on sales in the past years. Finish Line confirmed that it is pursuing a merger agreement with the Uk retailer.
Sports direct International was looking into buying the brand but plans have shifted in the past couple months. Finish Line CEO, Sam Sato, explained that they have admired the way JD has consistently provided consumers with a unique retail experience and are looking forward to team up with them.
The two retailers have yet to come to an agreement, but a merger deal should happen within in the near future. Finish Line’s current executive board is expected to stay after a deal is made but anything can happen at this point.
