Jordan Brand has officially unveiled the Air Spike 40, the third silhouette in the Spike Lee series from the brand. The first colorway released today in total orange and has three more which will follow over the next two months.
The Jordan Air Spike 40 takes cues from the Jordan line as well as Spike Lee’s relationship and love for the game of basketball and his hometown.
Designing the Air Spike 40, the brand dug into Tinker Hatfield’s sketch vault and features details reminiscent to the Air Jordan 5. Pointing to the 1990 release is the use of a translucent outsole, reflective material and a lace lock. For comfort, the brand added a phylon midsole and zoom air units. Following is a textile and molded TPU base that represents the Jordan Brand DNA.
The first pair of Jordan Air Spike 40s to release actually took place today which is known as the ‘Total Orange’, or ‘Knicks’. There are three additional color schemes that will launch in November and December. Jordan Brand will also have the Jordan Air Spike 40 on NikeiD allowing you to customize your own pair starting December 1st. Check out more images as well as the corresponding release dates below.
