Today, the Jordan Brand announces the latest evolution of WINGS, its community action program, by partnering with Youth Outreach: a Hong Kong-based youth center that provides a safe haven and mentorship for at-risk youth.
Partnerships with international organizations signify the start of a deeper community framework for WINGS. The approach expands the program, which is rooted in the way in which Michael Jordan’s athletic feats and his continued success as a businessman have inspired individuals worldwide. It employs education, mentorship and the power of sport to instill the confidence needed to unleash the greatness embodied by the iconic Jumpman logo in everyone.
“At Jordan we are committed to setting positive examples and inspiring all to achieve their fullest potential,” said Larry Miller, Jordan Brand President. “WINGS makes the Jordan Brand vision a reality and allows us to inspire kids around the world to be the greatest at whatever they choose to do.”
Jordan Brand will follow its Hong Kong partnership with similar initiatives in Shenzhen and Shanghai – and, in the coming months, add additional programs in Greater China and North America. Stay tuned to @Jumpman23 and Jordan.com for the latest on the WINGS initiative.
More imagery of the event can be seen below. You will also notice that the kids are wearing the Jordan CP3 ‘Jade’ while Michael Jordan has the Air Jordan XX9 Lows laced up, which we wonder if they will ever release.
