Jordan Brand has signed their first Chinese Basketball player, Guo Ailun. The signing is in conjunction with Jordan Brand’s 20th anniversary of entering Greater China.
“We’re excited to welcome Guo to the Jordan Family,” Michael Jordan said. “From his competitive spirit and style of play on the court to his strong personality off the court, he’s a great fit for the brand. We look forward to Guo representing the game, Jordan Brand, and ultimately himself in Greater China.”
An outstanding representative of China’s new generation of basketball players, Ailun has shown great potential and earned numerous accolades. His team honors include the 2009 FIBA Asia Under-16 and 2015 FIBA Asia titles, and the 2015–16 China basketball season regular season championship. Additionally, he was the leading scorer of the 2010 Under-17 World Championship team.
“Joining the Jordan Brand family is a dream come true,” says Guo, “I’ve visualized playing like MJ since I was a kid — from managing the game and leading my team to a championship. It is an honor to be the first Jordan Brand athlete in China and I am thrilled to bring my love of the game to the brand.”
The Jordan Brand continues to be inspired by Michael Jordan’s championship mindset and his unmatched commitment to greatness. Each year, the brand expands its diverse family of athletes, and each is dedicated to further evolving the brand’s iconic legacy. As a Jordan Brand athlete, Ailun will participate in the brand’s Wings community program, contributing to community development in China and inspiring the next generation to strive for greatness.
