Li-Ning is celebrating CNY, also known as the Year of the Monkey with the Li-Ning Way of Wade 4 ‘Chinese New Year’ release which kicks off the month for the brand.
According to the Chinese Zodiac Cycle, the colors White, Blue, and Metallic Gold represent good luck, which set the foundation for the color-scheme. Also, the lucky flower of 2016, a chrysanthemum, inspired the geometric floral pattern printed across the upper’s 2D mesh, and again seen beneath the clear blue rubber on the sole. All upper overlay materials are blue reflective film and all logos are finished in Metallic Gold. To add the final touches, Dwyane’s tongue logo takes on a unique style with this colorway, inspired by Chinese art chop signatures, symbolizing a piece of art directly from Dwyane.
