The Make-A-Wish Foundation and Nike are teaming up to make 16-year-old Rhome Simpkins, of Bakersfield dream come true. His wish of of designing his own Air Jordan shoe will happen thanks to the two parties.
Rhome was born with Wiskott-Aldrich syndrome. It is a rare x-linked recessive disease characterized by eczema, immune deficiency and low platelet count.
The Make-A-Wish Foundation will be flying Rhome and his family out to the Nike headquarters in Beaverton, Oregon before he undergoes his bone marrow transplant. From here, he will start to mockup his own design.
Currently, there isn’t any additional information on Rhome’s upcoming Air Jordan, however we will continue to update you with additional information and photos once they become available. More than likely his design will be included in an upcoming Nike Doernbecher Freestyle Collection.
