While New Balance is mostly known for its earlier-model runners, the 1500 is slowly creeping up on the 574’s and 998’s in popularity, due to its perfect mix of “retro” and “modern”. Today, we bring you a look at some of the 1500’s from the upcoming Spring 2014 New Balance collection.
While two of the four pairs feature the solid and simple colorways typical of most of the 1500’s we’ve seen in the past, the other two pairs give us something a bit different, utilizing the “Miami Beach”-type teal and pink made famous on the Nike LeBron VIII “South Beach”, as well as other imitators that followed that iconic shoe. One pair features the teal on the middle panel and lining, and is accented with pink, while the other pair is reversed, featuring the pink on the middle panel and lining, with teal accents.
