Hanon presents a detailed look at the upcoming New Balance “Made in USA” 990 30th Anniversary Reissue.
New Balance reintroduce a classic from the back catalogue for December 2012.
Marking 30 years since its 1982 inception, the original 990 is back in the line and reissued in its truest form.
Manufactured in the USA and considered way ahead of the game the 990 was revolutionary in its design due in part to its slip last construction and encapsulated EVA sole unit. The shoe was also the first New Balance to hit the 100USD mark and took nearly four years of research and development.
This reissued edition of the 990 has been created as a super limited release and constructed as a 1-1 of the original model. Attention to detail is applied throughout and carefully considered from shape to material application. Built on a moccasin like slip last, the shoe features a split lux pig suede and closed mesh upper with single piece N, bound tongue and reflective silver grey heel overlays.
Additional detail appears in the form of the distinctive polyurethane heel counter, Vibram outsole, chunky EVA wedge and archive embroidered tongue label.
Released December 1st 2012.
