We love finding sneaker related gems on the internet, but we especially love it when art and sneakers collide, whether in the form of custom sneakers or more traditional art, as we’re about to see from graphic artist, Ghica Popa, whose artwork has been featured on covers of Sneaker Freaker magazine. Today, Popa is focusing on a series based off of New Balance models, that were joint collaborations with other brands.
The New Balance sneaker art by Ghica Popa feature animated renditions of the well known sneaker models, in collaboration with brands like colette and UNDFTD. Popa’s signature style of graphics show up in full effect with the robotic sneaker-vehicles appearing throughout the series. The MT580 collab between colette, UNDFTD, and La MJC makes an appearance in one of the images, as well as the Ronnie Fieg x New Balance 1600 “Daytona” shoes, that are transformed into mobile home-like composition, outfitted for luxury dips in the pool.

Ghica Popa has and is still making a strong name for himself in the footwear scene, and with joint ventures with DC Shoes and Nike, we’re certain that he’ll be around for a while.
