Nike Sportswear’s ‘Plant Dye’ collection expands on multiple models and new colorways. A fan favorite, the Nike Air Force 1 will be part of the lineup and pays tribute to Himalayan Rhubarb.
Himalayan Rhubarb extract is a traditional natural dye from the Himalayan mountains between India and Bhutan. The plant grows in altitudes from 3-5000 meters and yields a deep Golden Yellow color from its rhizomes with an alum mordant.
Looking closer, this Nike Air Force 1 Low features White leather across the upper along with dyed canvas on the Swoosh logos and heel overlay. Speaking of the heel, it features text with additional information on Himalayan Rhubarb. Next, we have the plant embroidered on the tongue while Volt appears on the insoles. Finally, a White midsole and a flecked cinder outsole finish the look.
