Nike Sportswear brought back the ‘Big Bubble’ Air Max 1 for Air Max Day 2023. What makes the model unique is it was part of the original production run in 1986, which officially launched before the Air Max 1 dropped in 1987. So far, we have seen a handful of color options of the ‘Big Bubble’ release and for Summer 2023, we have the Nike Air Max 1 ’86 ‘Blue Safari’ arriving at retailers.
Tinker Hatfield designed the Air Max 1 and brought ‘Safari’ print to life after going into a furniture store and seeing an ostrich-skin couch. For this release, the two will come together for a unique look.
This Nike Air Max 1 comes dressed in a Light Smoke Grey and Diffused Blue color combination. Constructed with textile overlays, a mesh base, suede Swoosh logos, and safari print across the mudguards. Shades of Blue run across the upper with Nike branding on the tongue labels, insoles, and embroidered on the heels. Other details include the signature larger visible Air unit, an aged midsole, and a Blue rubber outsole.
Below, you can check out more photos of the Nike Air Max 1 ’86 ‘Blue Safari’ for a closer look. A release will take place at select retailers and Nike.com on June 16th. The retail price is $170. Once we have more information, we will make sure to update you.
