Hailey Leyva’s Nike Air Max 1 ’86 OG “Doernbecher Releasing December 2023

The Nike Air Max 1 ’86 “Doernbecher” is designed by Hailey Leyva and will be released in December 2023.

At the tender age of 8, Hailey Leyva has gone through more than what most adults have. She has been chosen to design a pair from Nike Sportswear for the Nike Doernbecher Freestyle XIX Collection. She is one of six participants, and the shoes she designed are the Nike Air Max 1 ’86.

Hailey Leyva is only 8 years old and has undergone five surgeries to fix her heart valves. Her collaboration with Nike Sportswear on the Nike Air Max 1 ’86 will be inspired by her medical journey and by the heart. Highlighted in shades of Pink, Red, White, and Gold. White leather runs across the base with five hand-drawn hearts on the toe box representing her five family members. It comes with a detachable bracelet with 10 charms, celebrating Hailey’s favorite things, including her love of customizable dolls. On the tongue is an anatomical heart logo sketched by Hailey’s doctor, which explains the process of what Hailey’s mom calls her “very special heart.” The wavy lines on the midsole and laces are drawn by Haily and are for the ocean waves. Gold fills in the Swoosh logos, heart lace laces, and speckled detailing. Lastly, a milky translucent outsole completes the look.

Nike Air Max 1 ’86 Doernbecher Release Date
