In 2004, we saw the Nike Air Max 1 ‘Urawa’ iteration debut, and for Fall 2023, they will make a return to retailers. Inspiration for the shoes paid tribute to the Urawa Dragons, also known as the Urawa Red Diamonds, a J League Football Club. However, like the Shima Shima, the 2023 rendition will have a twist.
Nodding to the club kits, this Nike Air Max 1 features a Pure Platinum, White, Black, Sport Red, and Summit White color combination. Constructed with mesh and leather, Black runs across the base with Grey and White overlays. Highlighting the shoes, Gold Nike branding adorns the tongues, and the Urawa Dragons logo is embroidered on the heels and placed on the insoles. Red fills in the more minor details, including in the Air Max unit. Other details include a White midsole and a matching rubber outsole.
You can expect the Nike Air Max 1 ‘Urawa’ to release at select retailers and Nike.com on September 1st. The retail price is $160. Continue to scroll below for more photos that will give you a closer look.
