Nike Sportswear will soon launch a new Air Max 90 known as ‘Rice Ball’ which is inspired by Onigiri.
Onigiri, also known as o-musubi, nigirimeshi, or rice ball, is a Japanese food made from white rice formed into triangular or cylindrical shapes and often wrapped in nori.
Looking closer, this Nike Air Max 90 features a seaweed texture across the upper while Aqua Blue adorns the Swoosh and tongue branding. Next, Red lands on the Air Max emblem on the side and Nike Air on the heel. Furthermore, the tabs have ‘Pull 1,’ referencing the packaging while the mudguard resembles the plastic wrapper. The insoles come covered in rice while White runs across the midsole. Finally, a Blue translucent outsole finishes the look.
