  1. Use ‘predominant’ (i.e. predominantly) to describe the color, not ‘predominate’ (which a verb). Predominantly black. The predominant color is black. Predominate is to be the leading or stronger element. You could say ‘black predominates the top’ or something but not ‘predominate black’ to describe something mostly black. Also, don’t capitalize a color unless it’s a named color, like red vs. Rocket Red or something like that.
