Prior to tomorrow’s debut, New York’s Extra Butter provides another look at the “Eagles” Nike Air Penny V. The quickstrike launch colorway of Penny Hardaway’s latest signature silhouette and a nod to his celebrated high school career, the University Red/Black-White kicks drop this Saturday, September 8, for $165.
Anfernee “Penny” Hardaway. The slick moving guard that played 14 years in the NBA is responsible for his own signature brand of Nike’s that have really come to the forefront in the sneakerhead world the past few years.
The latest, the Air Penny V is the newest model to the lineup. Featuring a molded piece above the midsole that is reminiscent of the Air Penny 2, the Air Penny V reveals a heel ride air bubble, hyperfuse constructed upper, and of course…the icy outsole. The Penny logo makes and appearance on the tongue as well as on the outsole, with Penny-legacy statements on the pull tabs in the back.
The first colorway to hit the shelves draws inspiration from Penny’s beginnings at Memphis’ Treadwell Highschool, where he played for the “Red Eagles” early on in his basketball career. Be sure to make whatever move is necessary if you’d like to expand your Penny shoe collection, with limited quantities available as a quickstrike release these will surely be a hit!
