The Nike Air Revolution is one of the unsung heroes in the Nike arsenal of kicks; without it, the Air Jordan III would not exist. With 2013 being the shoe’s 25th birthday (like its cooler, better-looking younger brother), Nike has decided to bring the classic hi-top back out of the vault, with both OG colorways (like the White/Red and White/Blue pairs we showed you last month) and new takes on the old-school banger (the extra-dope “Safari” joints, for instance). Today, we bring you a look at one of the OG colorways being retroed this year – the Nike Air Revolution Retro “White/University Red” – set for release later this month.
The kicks feature an all-white leather upper with bright red accents, as well as a black ankle strap by the collar of the kicks, which is one of the shoe’s defining characteristics. The shoes sit atop a white, grey, and black midsole (the same midsole used on the Air Jordan III), which utilizes a heel Air unit for added comfort (“comfort” being a relative term). Perforated leather on the toebox helps to keep things cool. All in all, this is a release many retro b-ball sneaker fans will be looking forward to, as well as cats looking for a clean pair of casual kicks. Available now overseas and set to release this month in the US at select Nike retailers like Wish, look for these to set you back $135 if you plan on copping a pair.
