The Nike Air Rift was originally released in 1996 and was inspired by barefoot long distance running of Kenya. Furthermore, the name was taken from the country’s Rift Valley, and the split toe design was inspired by the Great Rift Valley fault line. In 2023, the Nike Air Rift OG ‘Kenya’ will make a return, 27 years after its initial debut.
This Nike Air Rift comes dressed in a Black, Forest Green, White, and Atom Red color combination which borrows the colors used on the Kenya flag. Constructed with a textile mesh upper and comes with a split-toe design. Next, we have the signature two Velcro straps on the mid-foot and heel for a lock-down feel. Both Green and Black land on the base and Red is used on the branding and insoles. Other details include a White midsole and a Black rubber outsole.
