Although we still have a couple of months until the Yeezy 2 finally hits retailers, Complex has presented a number of sketches from the initial conceptual stages of the shoe’s production, giving some insight into the final release.
The futuristic footwear is said to have garnered it’s aesthetic from Kanye’s wishes for the shoe to resemble something that a warrior from the future would wear. Additionally, while the Foamposite-style bootie (meant to keep the foot in place and provide added protection) was ultimately ditched in the final design, the production version of the shoe retains the clean and simple toe box from the sketches, designed to give a slim look and provide a tailored fit. Completing the look are elements of some of Nike’s most iconic kicks, including the sole of the Air Tech Challenge II and a midfoot strap inspired by the Trainer 1.
Take a look at the design sketches and stay tuned for more Yeezy 2 info leading up to this Summer’s release.
