In addition to the conceptual design sketches, Complex has also provided the best look yet of the upcoming Wolf Grey/Pure Platinum colorway of the Nike Air Yeezy 2.
Designed during the recording of Kanye West’s My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy, the kicks Ancient Egyptian imagery throughout, with Horus appearing on the tongue (representing power, protection and victory) while hieroglyphics spelling out “YEEZY” appear on the underside of the Trainer 1-inspired midfoot strap. Details like the ridged heel, hand-etched scaly leather upper, leather lace lock and metal lace tips provide a luxurious look while incorporating a glow-in-the-dark version of the Tinker Hatfield-designed Air Tech Challenge II sole.
Set to retail for $245, look for the Wolf Grey/Pure Platinum colorway of the Air Yeezy 2 to hit select Nike Sportswear retailers in June.
