In 1972, Nike launched the Cortez a shoe for the time revolutionized the running industry. Over the years the brand re-released the shoes in a widespread of colors and collaborations. They even made a debut in the movie ‘Forrest Gump’. 48 years later, Nike brings back the classic and is releasing this month.
Known as the Nike Classic Cortez since they will come just like the originals. Featuring a white leather base, a thick foam tongue and a full length EVA foam midsole. Varsity red is placed Swoosh, tongue and heel while a varsity blue strip runs through the midsole. Making them look even more vintage, Nike has added a pre-yellowed tongue.
The Nike Classic Cortez in white, varsity red and varsity royal will release on February 28th at Nike Sportswear retailers and online for $100.
