Nike Doernbecher Freestyle XIX Collection Releasing December 2023

The Doernbecher Children’s Hospital is ready to unveil its 2023 collection with Nike and Jordan Brand, consisting of six different models.

2023 will officially mark OHSU Doernbecher Children’s Hospital’s nineteenth collection with Nike. Officially known as the Nike Doernbecher Freestyle XIX Collection, each year, select patients from the hospital get the opportunity to design their own sneakers. Typically, it’s one silhouette from Jordan Brand and five from Nike.

The collection includes the Air Jordan 3, Nike Air Max 1 ’86, Nike Dunk High, Nike Cortez, Nike Go FlyEase, and the Nike ACG Mountain Fly 2 Low. Also, matching apparel is expected to release. Each pair will tell a story about the designer, his/her likes, and the path they have journeyed.

Nike Doernbecher Freestyle XIX Collection Release Date

As a heads up, the entire Nike Doernbecher Freestyle XIX Collection will first be unveiled on October 27, 2023. A release will then take place on December 2nd, 2023. Air Jordan 3 Doernbecher

Additionally, the transparent heel tab unveils Hugo’s logo, with the Jumpman positioned above his nickname, “Juice.” To showcase Hugo’s unique sense of style, a striking green drip pattern takes center stage, accented by green patent leather on the tongue and quarter overlay. Furthermore, the shoe’s laces incorporate glow-in-the-dark specks, adding an extra touch of individuality.

Nike Air Max 1 ’86 Doernbecher

Hailey has undergone five surgeries to correct the valves of her heart, and she has chosen to commemorate her medical journey with a unique shoe design inspired by the heart. The logo featured on the tongue and sockliner is a hand-drawn replica of her distinctive heart shape, and shiny gold accents mirror her vibrant and sparkling personality. As an extra treat, Hailey has transformed some of her favorite things, such as ice cream and rainbows, into interchangeable charms that can be worn on the shoe or as a bracelet.

Nike Dunk High Doernbecher

Macey Bodily lives by the empowering motto, “She believed she could, so she did.” It influences all her endeavors, and she made certain to prominently feature it on her floral-themed shoe. The gray ribbon on the upper serves as a symbol of her journey as a brain cancer survivor. Nike Cortez Doernbecher

Sydney Little is a multi-talented artist and a determined competitive swimmer who refuses to be hindered by the pain of her arthritis. Her shoe design is a living masterpiece adorned with her own hand-drawn artwork and features interchangeable patches, allowing you to customize it to your liking on the heel. Reflecting her passion for swimming, you’ll discover resin dots on the heel that replicate water droplets, along with glow-in-the-dark lines on the outsole that mimic the ripples of a pool’s reflection.

Sydney aspires for her vibrant shoe to brighten your day and has a valuable piece of advice for anyone facing a challenge: “Keep swimming,” she said with a smile. “You’ll overcome it.”

Nike Go FlyEase Doernbecher

One fateful morning, Chris Musquiz Jr. was cycling to school when he encountered a life-altering accident, leaving him critically injured and resulting in the loss of his leg. Remarkably, Chris never surrendered his courage or optimism. His shoe design mirrors his deep appreciation for Japanese culture, showcasing a wave pattern reminiscent of classic Japanese art, a kimono-inspired wrap design, and a captivating graphic of Mt. Fuji featured on the tongue.
