Nike Flyknit Collective Shanghai recently created an interactive experience dubbed “Flyknit Multiply”.
At the Nike Festival of Sport in Shanghai, there was a distinct buzz just outside of the Action Sport pavilion, as Hong Kong-based creative studio XEX GRP and multi-disciplinary architecture studio ESKYIU teamed up with Nike to create an interactive Nike Flyknit shoe trialing and interactive experience for the 185,000 sports enthusiasts who visited the grounds. Dubbed the “Flyknit Multiply by XEX+ESKYIU”, the interactive installation and unique creative collaboration inspired by the Flyknit shoe combined a room-length trampoline, Arthur Huang’s architectural tribute to Nike Flyknit – “The Feather”, Nike Flyknit shoes for trial, a 15’ curved LED wall, and XEX+ESKYIU’s visionary digital interactive collaboration.
As part of the Nike Flyknit Collective , “Flyknit Multiply by XEX+ESKYIU” is an inaugural interactive installation for the FOS. It brought together visual arts, new technology and community expression and took this confluence to a new level. Inspired by the Nike Flyknit shoe, the real-time installation utilized bespoke digital computer codes, elegant analog descriptors and architecture spatial design to inspire unique real time portraits. Athletes, celebrities and visitors to FOS and inspiring youth generated their own flight as multiple extensions and weave formations in dynamic ways. Global superstars Lebron James, Rudy Gay, Amar’e Stoudemire, Eric Koston, Zhang Xi and Xue Chen, and entertainers Blackie Chen and Godfrey Gao were among the throngs who experienced the installation.
Nike enabled users to instantly share their animated images with their friends via an iPad interace with popular Chinese microblogging platform Sina Weibo.
