First Look: Nike KD 16 ‘Aunt Pearl’

Nike Basketball and Kevin Durant have introduced the Nike KD 16 ‘Aunt Pearl’ as an extension of the beloved ‘Aunt Pearl’ series. This shoe serves as a tribute to Durant’s late aunt, who tragically lost her battle with lung cancer in 2000. The ‘Aunt Pearl’ series initially debuted in 2012 with the KD 4 model, with a portion of the proceeds going towards supporting the Kay Yow Cancer Fund. The Nike KD 16 ‘Aunt Pearl’ continues this meaningful tradition, honoring Durant’s aunt while also raising awareness and funds for cancer research.

This Nike KD 16 features a striking color combination of Pink Foam, White, Fierce Pink, and Hyper Pink. Its upper is constructed with engineered mesh to enhance breathability, while leather overlays provide added durability. The inclusion of a Zoom-infused sole ensures exceptional cushioning and responsiveness. The majority of the shoe is adorned with a captivating Pink hue, while White accents add a contrasting touch. Notably, the TPU plate and heel branding are adorned in vibrant Hot Pink. It is highly likely that the insoles will feature a logo or emblem paying tribute to Aunt Pearl. Additionally, each pair will come packaged in special packaging, further adding to the unique and thoughtful nature of this commemorative release.
