Nike KD 18 “Air Bakin” Releases May 2025

The Nike KD 18 “Air Bakin” will be released on May 15, 2025. Inspired by the 1997 Nike Air Bakin that was worn by Mitch Richmond and Tim Hardaway. The retail price is $150.

One thing is for sure: the Nike KD 18 is a versatile sneaker in terms of color placement. Whatever colors the brand throws on the model, it looks good. For one of the upcoming drops, we have a pair that will pay tribute to the 1997 Nike Air Bakin. The model has had a long history, including at one point, Nike recalling the model.

Tim Hardaway and Mitch Richmond wore the original Nike Air Bakin. The model had some controversy around it back in the late 90s. Many believe the “Air” logo on the heel resembles Arabic text, reading “Allah.” Due to the outcries, Nike would recall around 38,000 pairs. 

We would see a first look at the “Air Bakin” KD 18 when Durant laced the pair up during a game. This Nike KD 18 features a Fire Red, Black, and Amarillo color scheme. Utilizing Red across most of the upper with Black outlining the overlays and lands on the base. Yellow lands on the laces, KD tongue branding, and outlines the Black Swoosh on the lateral side. The design is completed with a Black midsole and a matching rubber outsole.
