The ‘Lightning 534’ is this years weather themed KD. When Durant was growing up he wanted to become a meteorologist this is why Nike kicks inspired by mother nature.
Due to KD and his love for New York and the electricity of the basketball scene we have the Lightning 534. Furthermore inspiration comes from Empire State Building where lightning strikes the top at least 25 times per year. When this happens the sky tends to change to a purple hue.
