Ahead of this weekend’s drop, Nike provides another official look at the upcoming “Away” edition of Kevin Durant’s signature Nike KD V.
Durant’s game is constantly evolving, and so is his signature shoe. Case in point: the Nike Zoom KD V ‘Away,’ Durant’s fifth Nike signature basketball shoe. The number five plays a key role in the design, referencing five sides of a pentagon (a Washington D.C. landmark), five corners of a star and five players uniting as one on the hardwood. The number is visually represented on the shoe’s outsole pattern, midsole texture, tongue quilting (with V’s) and heel-counter details. The Zoom KD V ‘Away’ features his team colors, including a captivating Team Orange and deep, rich Photo Blue.
The construction of KD’s latest shoe reflects new insights from Kevin Durant himself. Unlike previous versions, this one features visible Max Air cushioning in the heel for maximum impact protection. A Nike Zoom unit in the forefoot adds lightweight, low-profile and responsive cushioning, while the nearly seamless, one-piece Hyperfuse upper lends an unbeatable fit.
