The Nike Mag is one of the most sought after sneakers from Nike due to its self lacing technology and was originally worn by Marty McFly in Back to the Future Part II. Designed by Tinker Hatfield, they also come equipped with neon lights.
Most may remember that Nike reissued the Nike Mag in 2011 via auction which only 1,510 pairs were available exclusively through eBay and live auctions. One thing it lacked and most important to many is the power laces. Following in 2016 Nike once again released the Nike Mag that self laces via a raffle. Both the 2011 and 2016 proceeds went to the Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson’s Research.
Now in present time, 2018, the shoe used in Back to the Future Part II landed on eBay and sold for $92,100 from Shoezeum. Due to the age and materials used, the midsole has started to crumble however this is truly a rare gem.
