Nike has officially unveiled three new styles as a part of its Holiday 2012 N7 Collection, including the brand new Nike Free Forward Moc+ N7.
Nike N7 is launching two new apparel styles and one new footwear style with the new Holiday 2012 collection. The unique silhouettes are based on insights and story-telling from Native American and Aboriginal culture of the past and present and include the N7 Generations T-Shirt, the N7 Generations Hoody and the N7 Free Forward Moc+.
N7 Generations T-Shirt
The American Football jersey silhouette of the N7 Generations T-shirt pays homage to N7 ambassador Sam Bradford, who is a quarterback with the St. Louis Rams and also the first ever Native American first-round draft pick in 2009. The digitally inspired print graphic on the front and back provide a tactile beaded feel, with exaggerated pixels forming a “07” on the front to signify the year 2007 when Nike N7 product was first released. Visible top-stitching along the seams of the organic cotton jersey gives a hand-crafted look and feel. Highlighted on the front is the N7 philosophy: In every deliberation we must consider the impact of our decisions on the seventh generation.
N7 Generations Hoody
Triangular patterns define the shape of the organic cotton N7 Generations Hoody, bringing a unique construction and structure to the hood. The patterned pieces provide graphic dimension as well as material efficiencies that result in less waste in manufacturing. Turquoise embroidery details the connection of the iconic Nike N7 graphic, which brings together seven triangles (three pointed backwards, one in the center, and three pointing forward) to symbolize the past, present and future and the Native American wisdom of the Seven Generations. A further nod to the N7 philosophy is highlighted on the inside right-hand pocket.
N7 Free Forward Moc+
Celebrating the slip-on design and comfort of a traditional moccasin, the Nike N7 Free Forward Moc+ modernizes a classic silhouette. The upper has the feel and aesthetic of moccasin leather, complete with top stitching for a modern, hand-crafted look, and a stretch cord for comfort and fit. The Nike Free outsole provides maximum performance with flexibility inspired by natural motion. Material use is optimized throughout the design, including cut-out swooshes on the lateral side of each shoe that are then used as raised embellishments. The iconic N7 triangle graphic also appears on the sockliners and on the eyelets. The Moc is finished with blanket stitching on the heel.
The Nike N7 collection of apparel and footwear is designed for men, women and young athletes who are inspired to support the N7 Fund and its mission: to help Native American and Aboriginal youth in North American reach their full potential by providing them with access to sport. The Nike N7 Collection helps support the N7 Fund. The N7 Fund awarded more than $2 million in grants to Native American and Aboriginal grassroots sport and fitness programs dedicated to getting youth moving. The N7 Collection also embodies Nike’s Considered Design ethos to create performance product engineered for superior athletic performance and lower environmental impact.
The Nike N7 2012 collection also includes N7 versions of the Nike Free Trainer 5.0, the Nike Dual Fusion ST 2, the Air Max HyperAggressor, organic cotton graphic T-shirts, the Nike Legend Capri made with recycled polyester and the Zone Short. All styles are available beginning Oct. 27, 2012 at select Nike retail locations in the United States and Canada and at www.nikestore.com. For more information visit www.niken7.com.
