The Lakers are not having one of their best seasons but everyone has been focusing on Kobe Bryant and his pursuit of passing legend Michael Jordan in all-time scoring. At the time of writing, Kobe only needs 77 points to pass Jordan. Over the years many have argued who is better and many will soon have the ‘all time scoring’ in their corner (Kobe fans), but it is worth noting it took Bryant about 4 more years to do it.
In true Nike form, the brand will release a special Kobe 9 to celebrate the historical moment. Nike Basketball tweeted out a blacked out Kobe 9 (could be EM) with “Coming At 32,293”. So once Kobe hits the number Nike is dropping the shoes.
According to @DeadstockNYC, the shoes will feature white and multiple colors. The original image also used the hashtag #NIKEiD, so we can also assume a new design option will be available to customize.
